Nevada Alliance for Retired Americans (NARA) has approximately 16,000 retirees and senior citizens within 18 affiliate chapters throughout our great state. We are affiliated with our national organization, Alliance for retired Americans (the Alliance) who have 3 million union retirees and other older and retired Americans. NARA plays a very important role in our state by lobbying our legislators in behalf of our members regarding Medicaid, prescription drugs, nursing homes, elderly abuse and many other aspects of senior life.

We are a non-partisan, non profit organization. We send candidates (for state offices) surveys, questionnaires and meet and interview them about senior life and issues. We make state endorsements of candidates by where they stand on issues rather than their political party affiliations. We then make these endorsements as recommendations to our members for their consideration. We do not make donations.

Please be advised that VP Bill Birkmann contacted me and announced that NARA'S participation in the Senior Spectrum Senior Fest held in Reno at the Old Town Mall today was a great success." Many people turn out and stopped by our booth and ask questions about the Alliance and our senior issues." Bill stated. VP Sam Lumpe and S/A/A George Nelson also participated in this all day event. Our thanks goes out to them for their dedication to our members and NARA.
